Post-production is first and foremost a time to check script assumptions. It is necessary to flesh out the moments when successive words and events occur, the way in which elements connect with each other. Testing allows you to check whether the imagined actions function as intended, whether they evoke certain feelings and whether the narrative carried out is clear. An important element of it is sound, which is both a factor informing the actions and a way to build the atmosphere of the piece. The sound layer, like the visual layer, has two functions related to building the character of the experience. The sounds associated with the locations and moving objects, prepared by Kajetan Zakrzewski, make the experience realistic, while the music used makes it unreal by building the mood. The music for „Control Negative” was composed by Karolina Rec, a composer and cellist who performs under the pseudonym Resina.
The presentation of the piece was also perfected. In the exhibition variant, the participant is to be placed in a specially prepared installation, and his position in VR is to depend on his position relative to the real object, a metal structure in the shape of a house. This required not only the creation of the physical object itself, but also a calibration mechanism to connect the two worlds and take care of the participant’s safety.
